How can one transcend the self-- be fiercely skipping down the
yellow brick road to Nirvanaville, avoiding blue monkeys of Pride, Wrath, and
David Niven-- if I don't have a strong enough sense of self to get
around to transcending?
You don't hear of invertebrates shrugging this mortal coil and
getting all glowy under trees! That may be because they don't talk,
but never mind that! What we need is a spine! Moxy! Pizzaz!
Something we, as a nation can truck with! Chocolate, and lots of
it! A firm sense of morality, so we can poke it with sticks and
laugh at it, like the fat kid on the playground, only actually
